Argentine Ducht Solidarity Foundation
The objective of the Foundation is to provide assistance and to oversee projects aimed at helping people in need in Argentina. Projects are selected according to the following new evaluation criteria from 2007:
- Projects are evaluated based on the impact that the project will have and on the basic needs and the number of beneficiaries.
- Focal point for positive evaluation of projects is the promotion of self-reliance and community involvement of a project, which in turn help to ensure this self-sustainability of the project and of the community itself. Projects can cover all areas of health, poverty, crime, addiction, education and training.
- Beneficiaries can not be excluded on the grounds of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
- Only concrete, one-time projects covering purchases, (re)construction, initial training for a defined period of time are eligible for evaluation. The funding will aim to propagate relief of suffering, skills training leading to self-reliance, creation of a safe secure living environments, particularly for children and provision of awareness.
- The Foundation prefers to work with well established sister organisations in Argentina to ensure funds are appropriately used and distributed, recorded and accounted for according to a pre-agreed plan.
- The maximum amount allocated from private funds is €5,000 per project. The SSNA will, at all times endeavor, to work together with other NGO’s to obtain additional funding. Projects in excess of €15,000 will not be considered.
All projects proposed will be fully documented and include budgets and starting and finishing dates. The use of funds will be thoroughly supervised and the results evaluated. The efficiency of the institution responsible for implementing the projects will also be evaluated on an on-going basis. Donors and members of the Governing Board will be kept informed on a regular basis regarding the use of funds raised and the status of projects in which funds have been invested.
WE BELIEVE that in the best American tradition of helping others help themselves, now is the time to join with other countries in a historic pact for compassion and justice to help the poorest people of the world overcome AIDS and extreme poverty.
WE RECOGNIZE that a pact including such measures as fair trade, debt relief, fighting corruption and directing additional resources for basic needs – education, health, clean water, food, and care for orphans – would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the poorest countries, at a cost equal to just one percent more of the US budget.
