Brief HistoryIn 1996, Buenos Aires became the first city in Latin America to introduce legislation against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. In 2003, same-sex civil unions were approved in Buenos Aires. It has been widely reported that Argentina's parliament will debate same-sex marriage in 2007.
